Will Ferrell Feels Sorry For Health Insurance CEOs
Comedian Will Ferrell joins the healthcare debate with an online mock public service announcement released today by MoveOn.org where Ferrell and several other celebrities speak out for the public option by pretending to defend health insurance executives. "Health insurance executives are getting a bad rap," Ferrell says at the beginning of the ad. Another actor follows with "People are saying a lot of mean things about health insurance companies and their executives. And it's got to stop."
MoveOn.org is not generally known for using humor as a political tool, but the organization hopes a funny online-only ad featuring popular celebrities will raise awareness of the healthcare reform debate and the public option among younger adults who might believe that, because of their age and good health, the issue does not apply to them. In addition to Ferrell, the ad features Jon Hamm of "Mad Men," Olivia Wilde of "House," Linda Cardellini of "ER," Masi Oka of "Heroes," and Donald Faison of "Scrubs." The video, entitled "Protect Insurance Companies PSA," was posted today on Ferrell's video site, FunnyorDie.com and has already generated 700,000 views, proving that humor has a place in the healthcare reform debate.

Stop panicking about the "Obamacare" bill that just passed, take a deep breath slowly - remember, you are a logical adult and conduct yourself accordingly. Cast aside notions of death panels and rampant abortion, that way lies stupidity - and lose focus on about getting no fax payday loans to purchase more guns, since you think they'll be taken away. A quick new health care bill summary: If you have insurance, it might get cheaper, for those who have kids. If you work for a small business, they get tax breaks for insuring people. Also, it streamlines parts of Medicare and Medicaid, which will save cash. It appears there are more benefits than risks, at this time.
